I am a "Florida Cracker" - a native of Oak Hill. I love
to photograph our beach, birds, and scenes of Old Florida. I also have been fortunate enough to travel all over the United
States and to many foreign countries. It is exciting to absorb other cultures and sights and to record them with my camera.
I have converted to digital after years of using 35 mm cameras and mostly use my digital SLR Canon Rebel XT, although I keep
a small Canon point-and-shoot handy. I am a graduate of FL State University, with a master's from Stetson and am retired
after 37 years as a teacher in New Smyrna Beach, FL. I have three children and five grandchildren. As a correspondent for
the "Daytona Beach News-Journal", I often shoot photos for a weekly column and for features. I also exhibit my work
at local art shows as "Moments by Marie" and have won several awards. I was an early member of the Southeast Volusia
Camera Club and have been Photographer of the Year twice.
