Dear Members,
Your SEVCC board of directors and interested club members met on Monday evening to conduct club business and discuss the future of the camera club. I will
present to you on behalf of the board the ideas, decisions and information that resulted from the meeting so you can be informed
and prepared for the December meeting.
FIRST and foremost, the December
meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 13th (Subject-Shadows), not the 27th as mentioned at the November meeting. There
will not be a Shutterbugs workshop in December. To celebrate the holiday season, the snacks planned are "potluck".
Anyone is welcome to bring a goodie to share. If someone wishes to volunteer to do soda, or ice and cups, please
email me so I will know that is covered. We will be responsible to be sure the room is cleaned up after, so please plan
to retrieve your leftovers. Remember, this month is the peer vote month. Ballots will be provided for you to vote
on each others photographs like we did last year.
This year's Club Awards will be held on Saturday afternoon, January 15th at
Bill Watkin's home in Edgewater. The reception committee will be putting out more details very soon.
OK NEW BUSINESS - The
board voted to accept the proposal from Lola Lawrence that the club meet 6 times a year from November to April which changes
the fiscal year of the club from the present January to December. It is the intention to move the club from a print
club to a digital club. This means that the first
meeting of the club under this new format is January 24th (4th
Monday). As a transition into digital, the January meeting will still be a print competition. This will give the
new board and committee members time to transition to digital competition and get the details out to you the members.
Effective with the January meeting,
there will be 2 categories instead of 3. A and B. This transitions the club to be in line with how most other
clubs compete digitally as well as many of the PSA and FCCC competitions. Therefore, all intermediate and advanced
members will now be classed as "B" and all salon members will be classed as "A". Please write your
new "Class" A or B on the back of your print submitted at the January meeting.
To transition to the new fiscal year, Renewal Dues will be only $15.00 due by the January 24th meeting (must be submitted before the 7:00 pm cut-off
for entries). This will cover January thru April, 2011.
The assigned categories are as follow:
January NATURE
February DOORS
March ANTIQUES
April FLOWERS
The new year will begin in November 2011 and
dues will be the full $25.00 (Nov-April).
Full details will be provided as soon as possible by your new 2011 Officers. Speaking
